In 1941,more Indian,British and Australian troops were brought to Singapore to defend both Singapore and Malaya from a possible Japanese attack.
PEARL HARBOR
On 7th December 1941,the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii to destroy the American Pacific fleet.At the same time,the Japanese began their attacks on Malaya and ther parts of Southeast Asia by air,sea and land.

HMS Prince Of Wales and HMS Repulse the battleships were brought to Singapore on 2nd December 1941.There were no other battleships available because of Britain's involvement in the war in Europe and North Africa.But in 10th Decmber 1941 the two battleships were sunk off the coast of Kuantan.
